FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: (3/7/2016)

Santa Ana, CA, 3/7/2016 – Mobile Medical Examination Inc. “MedXM,” a national leader in the design and implementation of preventive care technology and in-home health risk assessments, announced today that it will donate to the Colon Cancer Alliance in honor of Colon and Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

One in 20 people will be diagnosed with colon cancer. This is an alarming statistic and the very reason MedXM initiated a company wide event to raise awareness of colon and colorectal cancer, a disease that can be prevented through screenings. MedXM’s mission of education, prevention, and early detection is reinforced through its service of partnering with health plans to offer Colorectal Cancer Screenings (iFOBT kits) to their members. Together MedXM and health plans are working to remove Colon and Colorectal Cancer from the second leading cause of overall cancer deaths in the United States.

The Wear Blue Day at MedXM was held in honor of bringing attention to colon/colorectal cancer and celebrating the courage of those affected by this disease. The event took place in conjunction with the Colon Cancer Alliance’s National Dress in Blue Day program activities commemorating March as Colon Cancer Awareness Month.

“We want to make a difference in the lives of our employees, their families and their friends. Our Wear Blue Day event encouraged employees to learn more about their risks for developing the disease and ways to prevent it. By creating more awareness around this disease, we will save lives,” said Sy Zahedi, MedXM CEO. “It’s important that we do our part by helping the Colon Cancer Alliance create a future free of colon cancer.”
MedXM’s Wear Blue Day event was held Friday, March 4th. Over 50 employees participated and wore blue to honor those affected by Colon and Colorectal Cancer. MedXM will raise money all month long to donate to the Colon Cancer Alliance to help each organization’s mission of education, prevention, and early detection.

About the Colon Cancer Alliance & National Dress in Blue Day: National Dress in Blue Day is held on the first Friday in March in communities and offices throughout the nation. The Colon Cancer Alliance first launched the Dress in Blue Day program in 2009 to bring nationwide attention to colon cancer and to celebrate the courage of those affected by this disease. Today, individuals, businesses and community groups across the country participate by wearing blue and urging others to do the same. Blue is the nationally recognized color for colon cancer. By “getting blued,” the organization hopes to raise public awareness and save lives.
